Johanna graduated from the School of Dental Hygiene Dalhousie University in 1984. At this point, she moved to Ontario where she successfully completed the provincial qualifying exams and was granted a license to practise dental hygiene. Johanna lived and worked in Ottawa for three years before she visited and fell in love with British Columbia.
Johanna would move to Vancouver in 1987 and obtain her certificate to administer local anaesthesia. She entered into what has become her passion, the application of hygiene therapy in the field of periodontics.
She has worked in several periodontal practises since that time. After the arrival of her two children, she once again relocated to the South Surrey area and was fortunate to secure a position with Dr. Colfer at the White Rock Periodontal and Implant Surgery Centre. She has worked with Dr. Colfer’s team since 2003.
Johanna is proud to say that she is a long standing member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association and the British Columbia Dental Hygiene Association. She is recognized by the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board and has been both a speaker and participant in local dental hygiene study groups.
When Johanna is not pursuing professional interests, she loves to spend time at home with her two children and can often be found at local parks and community centres.
